Couture/Fashion

Madame Alexander was an artist and a designer paying close attention to the smallest details. She was a clothing designer famous for her eye for fashion and talent in couture clothing draping her dreams on her dolls, often calling them her “mannequins”. With an unyielding dedication to making dolls of character and beauty, Madame Alexander created beautifully detailed dolls that are loved and treasured for a lifetime by children of all ages. In 1951 she caught the attention of the Fashion Academy and was presented with their prestigious Gold Medal. It was a top honor of the fashion industry awarded to the best clothing designers. Madame received the coveted award for four consecutive years, 1951 through 1954, and many more times. She was applauded for helping to stimulate an appreciation for style and design in young girls, and in 2000 she was inducted to the Toy Hall of Fame. Today her dream of design, sense of style, and absolute perfection lives on with the Madame Alexander Doll Company’s award – winning designers. Working their magic using the finest fabrics, laces, gems and adornments from quality sources around the world, creating exquisite masterpieces, the dedication, ideals, and practices set down by Madame Alexander herself remain the status quo of the Alexander Doll Co.
